Aden groaned. His mother was yelling at him, trying to force him to go to church with her.
"Damn it, Mom! NO." He slammed his bedroom door and took out his iPod, jamming the ear buds into his ears. He blasted heavy metal, anger still boiling, coursing through his veins. Why the HELL do they pray to that b------? He's not even real. -
"Elicia, I'm sending you off to protect a certain town. Your doing this alone, so be careful?" Artimis, her older brother and one of the head demons said, pointing on a map.
"Okay. But what if I need backup?"She asked, yellow eyes blinking.
"Don't. Everyone is out fighting. Your lucky to just be watching."He sighed, then pointed to a white arch. It glowed, revealing a portal. "Now go."
Elicia sighed, disapearing through the portal.. -
"ADEN! You're coming to church NOW," his mother hollered through the door. Her words were just a mess of clamoring noise which he could barely hear over his music. Minutes later he heard the front door slam shut. Only then did he let a small smirk crawl across his face. She had finally admitted defeat.
-
Bells like in the picture appeared in Elicia's hand. The noise from the bells was enough to drive off most angels. She rung them lightly, then started walking.
No one really noticed her. Than again, not many humans did. A saying went 'If you hate something enough, you'll never see it'. -
Aden shut off the music and made his way downstairs. He loved roaming the streets while the majority of the town was in church. It was eerily quiet and religion free -- which was perfect. He slipped out of the back door and walked along the road until he reached the center of town.
-
The bells rang softly as she walked, heading toward the center of town. She figured it'd be the best place to set up a sort of base.
She passed a church on her way, and cursed under her breath, hating how humans could be so stupid.
Yet she couldn't hate humans. Fragile as they were, they were amazing creatures, or at least in Elicia's eyes. -
Aden heard a faint jingling of bells that got a bit louder ever couple seconds. "Hm. Last time I checked Christmas was in December, not August," he smiled scornfully.
-
Lost in thought about what Artimis's instuctions had been, she kept walking, not paying attention.
-
He shoved his hands in his pocket and strolled a bit farther before being abruptly stopped by an impact... Another person's head colliding into his. He staggered backwards. "Ouch. Sorry," he muttered, looking up. He held out a strong hand to help the girl up from the ground.
-
Elicia blinked, startled. The bells instantly disapeared, and she looked at him. "Oh it's fine, I should just pay more attention."She said, taking his hand.
-
He pulled her quickly to her feet. He smiled. "So should I." He furrowed his brow for a moment, racking through the names and faces in his mind. "You're new around here, aren't you?"
-
Finally found the picture I wanted for Artimis.
Meanwhile, back in the shadow realm.
"You can't be serious? We're not doing any such thing, Artimis!"A red head woman said, her form flickering between human and flame. A man with black hair beside her growled, eyes flashing purple.
"I didn't think you would. That's why I resign. I'm not fighting a loosing battle."He said, ear twitching.
A pink haired girl looked at him from the head of the table "And what about Elicia?"
"She's safe, Ezma. As will I be once I quite this stupid war. Good riddance, human kind."He said, disapearing.
The remaining demons at the table looked at each other, waiting for one to speak...
And back to earth.
"Uh yes, very new. In fact, I just got here."She said, then added "I'm Elicia." -
"Welcome to Brookeside, the center of the state's religious pride," Aden rolled his eyes at the last part of the statement. "I'm Aden."
-
"Religious eh?"She said, snickering. "Religion is all lies."She added.

An angel looked down from Heaven as the 2 kids stood on the street. "They shall see just how wrong they are when theyre burning in Hell... but maybe I could keep them from that" With that the angel turned human and walked around the street corner to run into the kids.
