I nodded. "Yeah..."

He stood there, looking around. Everything looked kinda new.

I bit my lip, walking into the living room and putting my keys and purse on the couch.

He followed her into the living room.

I sat down on the couch.

He sat down next to her.

"So..." I said, trying to think of something to say to him.

He looked over at her, waiting for her to finish her thought.

I looked at him, looking at me. Expecting me to say something. I looked away and took a breath. "My father...he just died, an hour ago." I lied. "He lived longer then expected."

"Oh my god..." he muttered. "I'm so sorry..."

I shook my head. "He lived longer...he felt more pain...but he lived longer at least..."

He wasn't sure if it was a good idea to hug her again... he really didn't know how to comfort people. "It's a shame you didn't get to say goodbye to him."

I leaned back against the couch. "Yeah, yeah it is." I said, closing my eyes.

He watched her lean back and close her eyes. She didn't seem like she missed him too much, but who knew?

I shook my head and stood up. "Look, let's just...forget it, okay?" I asked him.
