"Sure." He nodded.

I smiled in relief. "Thank you." I hugged him lightly.

He stared at her in surprise, then hugged back lightly.

I sighed and bit my lip. "You're the only person in my life right now, ya know."

"Really?" he asked. There had to be someone else.

I nodded. "Yeah, no one else cares."

"Oh." He hugged her again, this time tighter.

"What about you?" I asked, hugging him back.

"Uh, my mom's not home very often... she works a lot." He shrugged. "She's a detective, and when they get a hard case she stays twenty-four-seven."

I nodded, pulling away to look at him.

He looked at the ground.

"What about friends?" I asked, not sure if I should.

"I really only have one friend..." He smiled a bit. "I'm sitting next to her. She seems pretty cool."

I smiled. "Thanks." I muttered, blushing a bit.
