Caroline was silent, eyes staring at nothing in particular. She couldn't bring herself to say anything, for fear he would hear the guilt in her voice.
-
Callum scoffed. "How could I have been so dimwitted?" He chuckled darkly and shook his head. "That'll teach me, won't it..."
-
D: I have to go for dinner, then a party (how ironic), but I shall be back later!
-
"I-I'm sorry. I can't imagine how you must feel right now." Caroline whispered, the little voice in the back of her mind scolding her. How could you?! Can't you hear his heart breaking? Who cares if Rachael doesn't get what she wants, what about what he wants? What about what you want?
D: Okie doks -
:3 Back for a few isolated minutes.
Callum shrugged. "You couldn't do anything about it anyway, so don't be sorry. I brought this upon myself." He stood up, running a hand through his hair. "I'll get going; no need to sulk around here when I can do the same within the comfort of my own home. I'll talk to you later, yeah?" -
You're still here I hope......
She nodded, staring down at her hands. "Yeah, later..." She stayed there long after Callum left, long after many of her peers left as well. She ended up being the last to leave, eyes never leaving the floor all the way home. -
Oh, yes I am. :3
Callum made his way home. He slipped into his room and lay back on his bed. He stared at his dormant computer, his heart aching horribly. -
Caroline made her way up the stone steps slowly, opened the door slowly, and shuffled across the hallway to her room slowly. Everything she did was slow, like her brain had shut down almost entirely.
-
Callum's father could be heard cheering as Manchester United beat their rival, Liverpool. Callum closed his eyes. Moron, nitwit, idiot...
-
"There you are, you said you would be home an hour earlier! We were starting to get worried." her mother said, wrapping her daughter in a tight hug. Caroline simply stood there, arms limp at her sides like a rag doll. "Go upstaires and get to bed, there's no school tomarrow so you'll be able to sleep in an hour or two."
-
Callum's heart got the better of him. He moved to his computer and signed in to chat. He opened a chat with CaIn, even though she was offline.
I'm sorry if I wasn't who you wanted me to be...
He hit send. He wanted to continue, but decided against it. But I am madly in love with you... She probably wouldn't care anyway. -
Caroline, after changing into her night clothes, couldn't help but notice her monitor displayed the chat sites home page. She sat in her chair, staring for a full ten minutes before loging in.
I'm so sorry, for everything. I'm sorry for everything that's happened, I'm sorry for everything that is happening, and I'm sorry for everything that is happening. I'm sorry for the pain I caused you, and I'm sorry that the pain will probably never go away. -
Callum frowned at her message.
Don't be. I knew it was too good to be true.
But he really didn't... -
I know think this is just some stupid prank, but trust me it's not. I really like you, and if I could have it my way we'd be skipping through a field of flowers with the sun shining bright above us. But I can't
She paused, wording her sentance perfectly.
But I can't be with you when someone close to me likes you just as much as me. -
Callum flinched at her response.
Can't I at least know who you are?
