She shoved what she would need for a homework into her bag, carefully shut her locker door, and headed for home. It was close enough to walk like a turtle and still be home before the buses had finished dropping off their kids, but today she hurried.
Yes, sorry, trying to find a certain video on youtube -
'Tis okie, I just wanted to see if you were. :3
Callum finally reached his house. He unlocked the front door and practically flew up the stairs. He slammed his backpack onto his bed and sat down at his desk, starting up his laptop. He loaded the chat site and signed in. Welcome back, zealand36! the screen read. -
Caroline hung her backpack on a hook by the front door, placed her shoes neatly below it, raced to her room, and plopped into her chair. Welcome Back -CaIn-!
-
A notification popped up in the bottom right corner of the screen. -CaIn- is online! He grinned and double clicked on her username, opening up a chat room. He immediately began typing.
Hello there. How has your day been? -
She frowned at her unoriginality, and typed in a reply.
It was uneventful as usual, but nothing terrible happened. How was your's -
It was alright. Better now, though.
He hit enter, hoping she wouldn't think he was trying to sweet talk. He was merely stating the truth. His day was better now; it always was when he was talking to her. -
Caroline felt her face go hot, and almost lifted her hands up to cover it when she remembered he couldn't see her.
I'm glad to hear it.
She slammed her head on her desk, thinking it was probably the worst relpy in the history of replies. She'd never been good with conversations, and at this rate she never would. -
Callum smiled at her response.
And that party tonight? Are you going to be there?
Callum's hand lingered over the submit button. He had already established that they went to the same school earlier on in their various chats. He wanted to meet her; to finally be able to say, "Here I am." In a sense, he was also afraid that she wouldn't like who he'd turn out to be.
Biting his lip, he erased all that he had typed.
Have you ever felt that you can't meet everyone else's expectations? As if people are demanding too much from you?
The question came from thin air. He decided to just go with it. It would give them a chance to bond further. -
She stared at the question for a long while, and finally decided on an answer.
Yeah, almost all the time. -
He sighed, his fingers flying over the keys.
So, you might know how to handle situations involving it, then? -
She bit her lip, replying at the speed of a snail.I guess so, why? Are you having trouble with something?
-
Gar damnit, it's not supposed to be that close together
-
Dx I hate when that happens to me.
He nodded, as if she could see him.
Yes, actually, I am. You see, my father has his heart on me becoming a professional football (I believe you call it soccer here) player in a few years. I've been going along with it. What I really want to do is go into songwriting and music. He's already applied to professional academies for me.
He glanced behind him before sending the message. -
She closed her eyes, breathing deeply before answering.
I know how you feel. My parents always expect me to be perfect, and they've already got my furture planned out for me. But once we graduate High School, it doesn't really matter. We're free to do whatever we want, sky's the limit..... -
"Callum, I'm home!" his father called up the steps. "I've got some news!"
Callum sighed. "Later, Dad! I'm studying!"
He waited a few seconds before responding.
If sky's really the limit... I vow that by my sixteenth birthday, I'll find you. You've got to be somewhere. If we go to the same school, you couldn't be too far out of sight.
