Why do you want to only know a few people?
There are countless people on this site. Everyone has their own personality. There are different feelings, opinions, viewpoints, backgrounds, and emotions all collaborated into a single place where no one feels the need to hurt other people.
It's a beautiful thing and we're wasting it. We're all tucking our tails down and hiding in our own little cliques. Our own little comfort zones. And we've grown so accustomed to that idea that we no longer actually question why we hide. -

Older users remember a time when this site was a safe haven from people like that. No older user will attack you. They will never make fun of you or antaganize you. Older users are here still because they remember that time.

That we may debate and we may even argue and disagree. But other than defending our points on subjects, we never insult users.

It's difficult to mix the new people and older users together sometimes, because it's almost like two different cultures.
