Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Thomas looked up at it curiously, wondering who would be visiting the nearly-empty hospital.
-
"Oh." Norman muttered, softly. "How strange."
-
"I wonder who it is..."
"Hello? Is the doctor here?" A woman's voice carried past the door, that thick accent unmistakable. "I'm here to pick up my son."
"Mama?" Thomas thought out loud. -
Norman gasped in realization. "Ohhhh..." he moaned. If Thomas' mom saw them like THIS, she was bound to get the wrong idea, then it'd ALL be over!
-
"Hello?" She called again.
Thomas looked at Norman worriedly when he started panicing. "What's wrong, Norman?" He asked innocently. -
"N-nothing. Nothing at all." Norman replied, trying to sound calm.
-
The woman gave up at the door and started looking around the place. "Thomas! Where are you? We need to go pick up your dad from work."
The boy meanwhile was clinging to the elder, almost to the point of crying. "I don't want to leave Norman..." He muttered softly. -
"It's okay." Norman whispered to him, wrapping his arms around him.
-
His mom walked further down the hallway, her tone more irritated and worried. "My son! Where is my son?!"
Thomas buried his face in Norman's chest, his small hands holding onto him tightly. He had just found the one person that made him happy, and he wasn't ready to have that taken away. -
The sweet doctor kept a firm grip on his love, just trying to assure him that everything was alright. Then, a thought popped into his mind; he hadn't locked the office door.
-
La la la la~

Sorry, dozed off for a sec. xD
The mother had walked back to where she stood before. She looked at the door with the doctor's name on it. She started to go for the door knob.
Suddenly, her phone rang. "Hm? Yes, I'm trying to get our son so I can pick you up.....okay okay, I'll come get you and then we can look together. Bye." And with that, she started to leave out of the hospital exit. -
xD I understand.
Norman held his breath. He didn't even want to breathe, out of fear that she'd overhear! He didn't want anybody to take Thomas away. -
After a few moments, the woman was surely gone, Thomas's grip lightened, but he stayed by Norman's side. "I don't want to go..."
-
"I know." Norman nodded, compassionately. "I don't want you to leave."
