Eric kept having weird dreams. In one, Ashley's mom came home and started yelling at them, then Jacob came in and lit the house on fire, killing all of them and returning to his home planet to rule over his district.

I heard the door slam. I looked at the clock, it was two in the morning. "Eric?!Eric!" I said, frantically. I knew it was my mother, and if she caught us, I'd never hear the end of it.

"Yeah?" Eric murmured, half asleep.

"My mother's home...she sounds angry.She might come in here." I said, shaking him a little.

It took him a few seconds to realize what she'd said. "I'm awake... I'm awake..." He kissed Ashley quickly then left in a flash.

My mother burst into the room a few seconds later. She said,"He lied to me. He never wanted to get married." "Mom, what happened?" "He broke it off the engagement." She was obviously drunk, and crying.

Eric sat on the roof, listening silently.

"Oh dear, well....it'll be alright. Men are stupid, especially him, for letting you go." "You're right."she said, getting up."I'll go to bed now...sorry, for waking you up."
About five seconds after she left, I was banging my head on a pillow."Why? My mom was so happy.Ugh." -
Eric climbed quietly back inside and walked over to the bed. He wondered if she'd even noticed him, with the banging of her head on a pillow and such.

"Are all men such idiots?" I said, talking to myself.

"It depends. Jacob is an idiot. The guy your mother was going to marry is an idiot. I'm not sure if I'm an idiot, though." Eric sat down on the bed next to her.

"I couldn't love an idiot. Does that answer your question?"

Eric smiled a little. "So..."

"Yes?"I said, giving him a cute smile.

"What's your mom going to do now? Other than something irrational..."
