nak, i've been bullied before too. it does teach you that you have to deal with annoying people, but sometimes it leaves you with emotional scars -
@Naki: I hate going to a Catholic school where I sit next to two girls who say that gays aren't human and they shouldn't exist and God hates them and all of that crap. So then I end up yelling at them and telling them off because the fact that they all say that while I've spent the past three years lying about my homosexual father and his boyfriend pisses me off.

True, bullying will dramatically change a human being. But again, you. Do. Not. Need. It. In order to understand the world and be a socially healthy person. And that wasn't my whole point - school is only one microscopic place on this gigantic planet of ours. For some bizarre reason, people think it's the only place to be bullied.
There was also, in fact, a time when school didn't exist, as well as - much closer to our time, depending on the country - a time when very few people could afford it.
Weird, you'd think a race of mainly anti-social people would've been mentioned in my history books somewhere.

@sami, also, if i seem like i'm not happy to see you it's because i don't get super excited easily. i am happy to see you, i'm happy to see everyone (except certain people i know in person) but do you expect me to go "oh sami! i've missed you so much"? i don't do that to anyone! i'm not mad at you i'm making a point
