I took a bite. "Thanks, it's great."

"Good." The pups and the rest of them ate.
"So, what's your story?" I asked. -
"Let's see.... had a few siblings, grew up with them, then I woke up in a den without them and I didn't know where I was. So I left and tried to find them but ended up getting lost. Then I found the den I'm in now, and an elk carcass. So I ate some meat from it and slept there. That's it."

"...Wow." Was all I could muster. Mika, however, was different.
"How did you go blind?" She asked.
"Mika!" My sister and I exclaimed at once. -
"I think I was born blind..." I took another bite of hare.

"It's not that bad, is it? If you were born with it, you must have your ways to live with it, I suppose." Jack was always the smart one.
"True, true." I said as I ripped off more meat. -
"Yep. Jack's smart."
