At the house.
I had let Sam in her room, but I made sure to stay there with her. Incase she tried to pull anything else. I didn't need it right now. -
All I wanted to do was sleep. I climbed into my bed, burrowing deep under my covers. "Randy?"

I sat near her bed, and ran my fingers lightly through her hair. "Yes?"

"I put you through hell." I glanced up at him. "Why do you keep coming back to me?" You could just as easily walk out the door and start a new life with better people in it.

"Because, I love you. You're my family. The only good family left. And... I can't just leave you. It'd break me." I mumbled fast.

"But it must break you more to try and stay, doesn't it?"

"No. Not at all." After what had happened, I still couldn't stand to away from Sam. I had grew up with her, and we'd stayed together. I wasn't about to leave in the midle of some crazy thing like this.

"Hmm." I closed my eyes and sank deeper into my pillow, releasing the stress I had a few minutes ago.

"I'll be back," I said, and headed out the room. -
I drifted into a dreamless sleep, but a pleasant sort. Maybe this would all be over by the morning.

I went to get a drink, but the phone rang in the middle of me taking a glass out the cupboard. It fell and shattered at my feet. "Jesus, Who could that be?"

I awoke, startled by a shrill ringing sound. Just the phone, Sam. Just the phone...

I picked it up with unsteady hands. "Hello?"
"Randy! I haven't heard your voice in forever! Are you okay? I saw you on the news, Sweetheart. That was a brave thing you did."
"Me? On the News?" I was shocked to hear I was on the news, but even more shocked to hear Tammy's voice. I had forgotten about her. -
I slipped out of bed and slowly made my way out of my room. I took the stairs one at a time, pausing after each step. I finally made it into the kitchen.
