He checked it to make sure the solar panel worked. Then he got in line to use the high-power fan to test the wind part of it. He spun the blades with his fingers, thinking about Nikki the whole time.

He began tearing up and cried. He moved away from the paper to avoid leaving marks on it. After a few minutes he began coughing and crying all at once.

He went from being at the front of the line to dead last. He was shoved into the back wall by a few people. His generator slipped out of his hands and crashed to the floor, breaking in all directions. "No..." he whispered, picking the pieces up quickly.

The teacher placed an arm around him and took him to the office. "Wait here..." She went to the tech ed room. "Devin."

He stood up, placing the pieces on the nearest table. He walked over to the teacher.

She took him to the office. Nikki was still crying.

He walked in behind the teacher and immediately saw him crying. He rushed over and hugged him. "Nikki..."

"Devin...?" He hugged back, burying his face in his chest. The teacher went over to the principal, discussing what should be done.

He held him close. "I'm right here..." It hurt him to see Nikki in so much emotional pain.

He kissed his cheeks and wiped his face.

Devin kissed his nose lightly and wiped one tear from his face with his thumb.

"It's really sweet...Devin seemed so upset and his teachers said his grades dropped since the incident. Nikki does have a positive effect on him." The teacher stated. "No one has the right to discriminate against them."

Devin looked up at the mention of his name. Seeing that he wasn't being called on, he turned back to Nikki. "I'm sorry about all the trouble today's brought..."

"It's fine..." He sniffed. "I wanted to be yours."

He took his hand in his. "Me too," he whispered.
