He smiled. "Great. I'll see you then."

He loses him before leaving back to class.

He kissed back and said goodbye. Then he made his way back to class, everyone eyeing him strangely. -
He settled in his seat, eyes on him until the teacher smacked a ruler on the board.

"Well. As I was saying, class. In order to solve for.... You must remember to... and manipulate the numerical coefficients as so...to find x."
He found that much of what the teacher was saying he didn't understand. He couldn't stop thinking about Nikki and what had happened out in the court yard. -
Nikki tried to focus on what the teacher was saying, but it was ruled by his thoughts of what he wanted to do with Devin now that they had come out of the closet. Go to the park? Or the beach? Or spend some time alone at home?

This wasn't like him. He should know this elementary material.
He didn't care at the moment though. He let his mind wander. -
He fiddled with his pencil, his imagination wandering.

First period was finally dismissed. Devin gathered his books and went to his locker, grabbing his things for second period.

Nikki grabbed his things quickly.

He shut his locker and turned, slamming right into a 'popular'. "Watch it, freak," they glared at him and sent his books flying. He shrugged and picked them up.

"Devin?" Nikki helped him. "They just don't understand..."

He shrugged. "They just choose not to. I don't mind it as long as they don't get to you." Once all of his books were in his hands he stood up and thanked Nikki.
