Xolani walked off towards the river and jumped in. She was bored, it was hot, and there weren't many as many shady trees in the deer's part of the forest as there were in most parts.
Kitkun heard the sounds of Amya playing with some other wolf pups outside. Probably making her dress even more muddy than it already was. he didn't want to go back outside, it was hot. Down here in the den, it was cool. This was the summer den. In the winter, the Starsong pack moved to a warmer den a few miles south. Kitkun decided it would be best to stay down here, in the darkness rather than go back outside and be hot again. "G'night." Kitkun mumbled sleepily before laying on Taini's brown-furred side and falling asleep immediately. "Okay..." Taini mumbled before falling asleep again as well. -
River and Tree loved play fighting. Of course, River had to go easy on Tree, but he didn't mind.

Andru scampered into the trees with his siblings, and meowed "Whatcha doin?"
"Nothin."Tailia and Konako said together. -
Sorrel walked along, deep in thought. She stopped at a clear puddle and gazed at her reflection. She looked nothing like her family. Different nose, different mouth, even different eyes. Her arms weren't furry like theirs, and she didn't have claws, either. Why am I so different from them? And, why am I letting it bother me now? she wondered. Stone had always wondered, but Sorrel had never cared.

bay woke up of her mother saying "wack up!mia's dead..."by then baylie was fully awake."what happened?!" "a hunter shot her."her mother said."we should stay in here.bay and rock nodded.

River batted at Tree's face, and Tree elbowed him in the stomach.

Female Officer Sarah Efim was talking on the phone to a guy who worked for the local newspaper and wanted "the scoop" on what the police department was doing about the old missing child cases they'd recently started investigating again.
Officer Sarah's 6-year-old son, Andrew, wa slistening, although he could only hear his mother's side of the conversation. "Of course! Yes, we've sent several animal control officers and police officers into the Kumire forest to check out what's going on. No, the animals we find will be killed. Yes. M-hm. The children will be placed in an orphanage. Poor things..." Officer Sarah replied to the newspaper guy. -
And then there were her ears, too. She put her long hair behind her ears and looked at them. She was... very weird.
Sorrel walked down to the bushes by the stream and started plucking the berries off and eating them. -
Andru tackled Kona, and the tw tumbled out of the tree into the bushes below. Tailia squealed, joining then. They wrestled on the muddy ground.

Xolani came out of the water for air, then paused.
She looked around. She'd never swam this far before.
And there was some strange-looking creature on one side of the river, picking berries off of a bush. -
there was a long silence,then rock said "i'm hungry!"

"Tree, do you hear that?" River asked, perking his ears. "No, what is it?" "I don't know, I've never heard anything like it."

Sorrel froze. There was something moving in the river, and it wasn't a fish.

Xolani narrowed her eyes. "What are you?" she demanded.

"Whatever it is, I don' like it." River said, taking off. Tree followed after, trying her best to keep up with her brother. Unfortunatly, she lagged behind and got lost.
