Thread Topic: Unpopular opinion

it's not even about the fact that you agree with it or not, it's just having the decency to stay in your lane, let people do them, and just mind your business
-
cause at the end of the day it really has nothing to do with you, you aren't particularly affected by it. but having someone have the decency to at least just be like "ok cool" would make someone's day
-
But basically if you are an animal.... then you shouldn't be "Involved" with people. It becomes a moral issue.
I understand if this post gets deleted but I'd like to defend myself and explain my reasoning.
I don't think I'm a bad person for not being able to get past that. -
I made a new account because of exactly the reaction I am receiving right now.
-
Out of curiosity, do you identify with a more commonly accepted Pronoun? Like he/she ? Or a pronoun which matches the gender you were born as?
-
Cats can identify however they want. It's none of your concern unless your interacting with them.
On the other hand, don't bite off more than you can chew. If you were expecting this reaction, maybe you shouldn't have said anything. I'm surprised that I'm not mad that your talking s--- about neopronouns right now, but emotions are useless to me, anyways. -
i am comfortable with any pronoun in all honesty, gender just... is not a big deal to me.
-
I am not trying to "talk s---" about neopronouns, my intention was to try and understand them better and I actually got a lot of useful information from this experience, as far as that goes. I'm sorry if I said something that was offensive.
-
I think pronouns are a difficult thing to discuss because it is so easy to offend people when trying to gain more information.
-
Ah I'm the same with my identity. I'm fine with whatever Pronouns
But, if you are comfortable or so nonchalant about Pronouns, I'm curious as to why the idea of neopronouns is something you seem, not so comfortable about or hesitant to accept as new way of like, lanaguge? What is the difference which makes you so uncertain of them compared to others? -
That seems true, stranger
-
I wish I knew. I just struggle to understand their purpose. They just seem so counterproductive when you consider pronouns as simplified means to referring to people. If everyone has different pronouns, why not just call everyone by their names?
It is certainly a personal problem, and one I am trying to work on. -
pronouns are indeed used as a substitution, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're meant to be simplified
-
Well, when you think about it in a sense where it's like "EVERYONE is going to have different unique Pronouns!" It probably is easy to become intimidated and unsure how to work around with langauge. I doubt it will overtake every other Pronoun when most people do identify with the gender they were born as. Neopronouns simply exist as a special way of referring to somebody who does not feel that the current Pronouns he/she/they fit em. Xey are likely just wanting people to use xir Unique Pronouns for xem, not for those Pronouns to then take over the whole world and have everybody start using new Pronouns
-
True, I've just always understood them to be used like that. Understandings can be wrong.
