yes, the community can be toxic,,
like anyone else, some lgbt members aren’t accepting. -
some lgbt members bash on straight people, but it’s not straight people who are harming them, it’s homophobic people.

Okay then...what are they not accepting of?
Still, I don't know HOW MANY TIMES someone has told me I should go to hel l just because I like someone the same gender as me. And it's ABSOLUTELY spiteful that my grandma (grandma doesn't know, she just suspects) and church can accept me, but 80% of the world can. 80% of this WEBSITE can, because 80% of this website is LGBTQ, but the real world is filled with horrible people. -

toxicity doesn’t only equate to nonacceptance. within and towards the community there’s a disgusting amount of fetishism of sexuality and gender identity. there is a stunning amount of lesbian exclusion and bi-erasure. there is a lot misinformation spread about those who are not cisgender and a disgusting amount of gatekeeping. not to mention the constant head turning to lgbt people of color.

Conclusion: All people are flawed and make mistakes, and we shouldn't judge all of them based on one person.

My own grandparents (on my dad's side cousin so you wouldn't know them) are homophobic and I'm not allowed to see one of my cousins because my grandparents say that she's a sinner but their church can " fix them" so I don't get to see that cousin because she's a lesbian.
