It also reminds me of a camp that I go to, and everyone sings that verse every morning. There's a weird process in the wake up call, but I like it.
-
What kind of camp? :o Like a summer camp? Like Camp Rock lol
-
Yeah, it's a summer camp in Colorado called RMCC (Rocky Mountain Christian Camp). But it's worth traveling 9 hours to get there.
The process in the wake-up call is kinda weird. So, one of the counselors starts singing the chorus part of the Rise and Shine song I mentioned earlier on the blow horn so that everyone can hear, and then everybody else at the camp starts singing along with him. Then once the verse is done, the counselor shouts, "Wakey! Wakey!" and then all the campers shout, "Eggs and Bacey!" And then everyone gets up. -
That sounds awful to me but I'm glad you enjoy it π

I go to a church camp that's an hour and a half away in the summer. I can't imagine going to a camp that's 9 hours! I once went to a youth conference with my church that was like 4 or 5 hours away I think, and that's the longest it's been for me to go somewhere like that. That's crazy.

Well, it's in Colorado, and I'm in Nebraska. It's in the Rockies. It's a great camp. You remember the three A(i)(y)d(e)(a)(y)ns I mentioned? I was friends with Aydyn, but I met Aidan and Aiden there.

Oh okay lol cool.
-
I went to Bible School in the summer but it was at the church not even 5 minutes from my house lol.
-
Oh, I went to those all the time when I was younger. I help with them now at my church.
-
My family was really involved in the church. I was an acolyte until I was 14-15 but I became an atheist when I was 12 lol. When we moved away we didn't go to the church anymore but we used to help. Like setting out morning snacks, delivering meals to disabled congregation members, decorating for different holidays, etc. I was in youth group, choir, and Sunday school. I even helped make the communion bread lol. My life was church for a very long time

If you don't mind me asking, what made you stop? If you don't want to talk about it that's okay lol

I'm not so sure I ever fully believed, you know? I've always honored truth and honesty, so when people said to accept Christianity without question, I felt that would be dishonest to myself and that if God was real then He would show me. Initially I believed some of the documentaries we watched in Sunday school about artifacts that supposedly prove Jesus' existence, but once I got ahold of the Internet and researched it, I discovered those were actually forgeries. I began to think about all the different religions in the world. Even though my entire life I had this religion fed to me as indisputable truth, I realized it was exactly the same for every single other religion. That the feeling of "faith" wasn't exclusive to Christianity. Plus I always found the concept of a god hard to believe and a little ridiculous. Really what cemented it was interacting with people online and learning about all these other cultures, seeing we're all the same. I had an epiphany one night that the only reason I believed in God was because I didn't want to go to Hell. That there was no logical reason for me to believe. I vividly remember the feeling of thinking "there is no god." I didn't feel afraid or confused anymore. I stopped trying to rationalize the world around the idea of a god and began to see the world for what it is outside of religion, if that makes sense.
I've contemplated it a lot and religion just isn't for me. I don't believe in any of that stuff, like the paranormal and all that either. I believe in humanity -
That's interesting. Thanks for sharing. I like to hear why other people don't believe in God and what their reasons are. I'm a Christian, and I won't push any of it on you, but if you ever want to talk about that kind of stuff we can. :)

No problem, I appreciate you listening instead of attacking or trying to convert me.
