I assume you're christian? If you are, then you believe that God put us in charge of the animals. They are God's creation, but since we're in charge of them, it isn't a sin to eat them. If you read the first ten chapters of Genesis, you'll find that it's true. I love animals and all animal cruelty should be illegal, but I eat meat and as long the cow wasn't tortured to death or something, I really don't see the problem with it. Moses, Abraham, they ate meat, but does that make them evil? And in the Old Testament, before Jesus came to earth, people made sacrifices to God by killing animals (usually a lamb or pigeon or something like that). Was that evil? Also remember that when Noah finally found land, he also made a sacrifice.

(For goodness' sake, what do the instincts of lions have to do with this discussion, anyway?) A lion in it's right mind will not go out of its way to track down a human and kill it for food. A lion who kills humans is either a stupid lion or a very, very desperate and starving lion. The only reason they'll attack humans usually isn't for food, mostly only if you mess with their cubs, steal their prey, tresspass on their hunting territory, etc. But whatever...the behavior of lions has pretty much nothing to do with this.

I don't think eating meat is evil and I don't think being vegetarian is stupid. If you were starving to death and all you had was a cow, I have a pretty good feeling that the cow would be gone in a few minutes. I don't eat meat because I hate animals. :P In the wild animals eat eachother, but you wouldn't think that makes them evil (Their minds aren't intelligent to know the difference between evil and good, anyway xD) -

(So no, you would not walk up to a lion and pet it, because you would be tresspassing on its hunting territory. But it wouldn't eat you, it just killed you because you tresspassed. You really wouldn't even have time to walk up to it, as it would've seen you tresspassing first. But all of them know that humans = bad, so about a fourth of them would get the heck out of your way instead of attacking.)

Yes, there is nothing wrong with eating meat, i never said there was anything wrong, i just said that if people were to stop eating meat, we would save alot of animals lives, thats all i meant.., i eat meat myself, and i know theres nothing wrong with it....
