Lucky you peeps have talent XD
I have a really expensive guitar just there in my closet collecting dust. I want to learn but I don't want to mess the gift up. Honestly I would flop with the guitar. I admire people who know how to play even a little :o
Thanks fam c: you are too.
And how come your meh-ish, Hiccy? -
Cool. I haven't ever pulled out a melody of my own on piano.
-
I've never been able to learn guitar. Ever. And I tried so many times ._.

I KEEP LATE POSTING OMGZZZ
Ati: Idk, I'm not not ever great, but not horrible. I'm sort of having girl issues atm so I'm a bit moody but at least I'm over the hump ^~^ -
*not ever
I am technically spamming this thread right now -
I was writing a post. Sorry.

I just picked guitar up maybe a month or two ago, and it only took a few minutes to learn it if you can turn words into a note. For example, the first part is 6, 6, 4, 6, on the D string [3x] then 4, 6 [D] 4 [G]. If you know what each string is and where to find the correct frets, you can learn something.

I used to know a bit on guitar. But I never kept up with it enough to inprove and my high e string broke. I have however been learning piano. It's slow as balls but I can practice whenever I want (school has a piano for students) and am picking it up much faster.
-
I play electric, and the strings from low to high are low E, A, D, G, B, and high E.
-
Piano is actually very easy to pick up in my opinion.
-
My guitar was actually given to me from someone who was giving away two guitars. I got one, and the high E string was broken. It's fixed now.
-
My main issue with learning new things on piano is coordinating both hands. Never had that issue with guitar.
-
About piano: I think it depends on the person whether or not it's easy to pick up. Because I started playing when I was five, and now I can play just about anything on piano. But my sister is eighteen years old, and I have tried to teach her so many times, and she just can't get over the fact that you have to read music for two hands at once. I know other people her age though that had never played an ounce of piano in their life, and then when they started learning they picked it up right away. I guess different people have different skills.
-
That really depends on what song you're learning on piano. Songs like Heart and Soul aren't very difficult, but I only know the duet version. It's the whole playing with your nondominant hand thing that's challenging.

That's a fair way to look at it, hiccstrid. I spent 3 years learning trumpet so reading music wasn't my issue. But between that and guitar, I'm very used to my left hand being needed to support the right. Either by adjusting valves 1 & 3 or by holding frets. Piano is a different world entirely and I am loving how it challenges the norm I've grown accustomed to.
