I handed my ticket to the attendant, and boarded the plane. I found my seat quickly, and found that I was one of the last to get on. I knew that people were already looking for me. I mean, I left during lunch, where anyone can just slip out of school and run away. I was antsy during the whole flight check, but calmed down once the plane started moving. "Can't wait for Denver," I muttered. "Goodbye Pennsylvania, hello Colorado."
-
I quickly pulled on a pair of shoes and ran out he door. The guard who always stood by my door came jogging after me, but I ordered him to stay. This was going to be my case, and my case alone. Sadly, when I got down to the parking lot, I remembered I only had my vespa to drive. I sighed and quickly called the cop down, and he gave me a ride to the airport. For anyone else, it would have been a 45 minute ride- for me in the police car, it was 15 minutes flat. I got there and quickly asked someone at the desk, "Was there a teenage girl here? About 16 years old? She would have been boarding." "I don't think I can tell just anyone that kind of information..." She replied. I rolled my eyes and pulled out my wallet, flashing the police card and badge. She suddenly stood to attention and told me a girl had just gotten onto a flight to Denver.
-
I slept for most of the flight. I woke up when the captain announced we would be landing shortly- ten minutes. I sighed. "Where do we go next?" I whisper. Cen licks her paw. "We leave our next message at the Denver airport. 'Mountain' is the next one." I thought sbout mountains. And Denver.
Pike's Peak," I say. "We're going to the Peak?" I felt the plane slowly descend. "For a short while." Cen began licking her other paw. "Long enough to leave the next note." I hazarded a glance out the window. I'd say about five more minutes. -
I had gotten on the next flight out- only about half an hour behind the one the girl had gotten onto. At this point, the local police were chattering in my ear through my headset, and I eventually just took it off to keep them quiet. I wasn't really sure what to do after the plane landed- I had a feeling the girl wasn't going to wait around for me. The pilot came over the intercom and saidtat we would be landing fifteen minutes early, so that bought me some time.
-
I left the message, 'mountain', on the conveyor belt. I quickly headed out, and pulled my hair back into a quick braid. "Taxi!" I yelled, and raised my arm. I opened the door of the cab. "Pike's Peak," I said. "And be quick." The driver looked back at me. "That'll be more money, kid." The cab driver warned. I smiled. "Don't worry- I have enough cash to get there and back." He sped off to the lodge at the Peak's base, and I blew out a sigh of relief. The more time we wasted, the greater the chance I would get caught.
-
I rushed to the belt to grad the little baggage Inhad brought, and just as I had picked up my bag and was walking away, a little peice of paper caught my eye. I grinned- this girl was sending me on some kind of chase. I picked up the paper. It read, 'Pike's Peak'- and I suddenly went pale. I was deathly afraid of mountains. Dammit. But, I guessed for the sake of the case, I'll have to suck it up. I hailed a cab, and told the guy to get me to Pike's Peak, fast. When he told me that I'd have to pay extra, I flashed him my badge and he sighed.
-
(Sorry I wanna add something)
I handed him a big blue flashing light. "Stick this on top of the car, and you can go as fast as you want. Just try not to kill anyone." He grinned and did as he was told, and we made lightning time to the peak. -
I left the note on the counter, under my glass, and told the guy working there to give it to a boy, who looked around the same age as me. "Who should I say it's from?" I smiled. "Tell him his sister left it for him. He'll know what it means." I walked away from the counter, and went back to the couch to grab my backpack. I left out a back door, and walked around front. I stayed close to the wall, and I saw a cab pull up to the building. Cen purred. "There he is, child. That is the one." I took a glance. Yes, my age, but he looked the exact oppostie of me. I started walking towards the bus, and slipped in to the crowd. "You're going to the airport, ma'am?" I smiled, and nodded. "Yes. I'm going back home." 'Home' was the next clue. That's where I was going next.
-
I rushed into the building and looked around everywhere, but didn't see the girl. I sighed and was about to leave when the guy at the started yelling. I turned to see what was wrong, and relized he was just trying to get my attention. I walked over and he handed me a little note, telling me it was from my sister. I read it quickly, said thank you to the man, then ran back outside, where the cab was still waiting for me. We went full speed back to the airport, but another flight back to Pennsylvania wouldn't be for another hour.
-
I hid in the bathroom, waiting for my flight to be called. Luckily, I had bought some snacks, co I wouldn't get so hungry. Also I got some shades. And a hat. Aaan some new clothes. Okay, I pretty much looked unrecognizable. I usually wear contacts, but when for emergencies, like this one, I carry a pair of glasses with me. So, I stuck those one, and the look was complete. I decided I was going to sit next to a big group of people, so, hopefully, I would go unnoticed. "Flight 21 for -----, Pennsylvania, boarding." I took a deep breath, and walked right out of the bathroom. And ran into the guy who was chasing me. "Oh, hi, sorry." I got a good look at him. He was...um...actually kinda cute. "Sorry, again." I told him, and walked to my seat, where I'd left my things. And remained oblivious to the piece of paper that was taped to my backpack.
-
I went back to grab my stuff of the chair. I glanced back at that girl who had bumped into me, and the peice of paper on her back. I picked up my stuff, thenwent to the boarding area. I showed he attendant my badge, and she let me pass. I sat down in the very back row- that way, I would see anyone who got on. I put my earpeice back on, and immeadiatlly the other detectives and cops were blabbering like monkeys.
-
I showed my boarding pass to the flight attendant, and went on board. I sat in my seat, glancing towards the boy in the back. The...boy, as Cen described him. "Where are we going?" I whispered. Cen looked at me, and rubbed her head against me hand. "To your school," Cen mewed. "Your car is still in the airport parking area, right?" I nodded. "Yes, we can head back to school as soon as we leave the airport." I pulled out my IPod, and plugged in my headphones. I nodded and hummed Daughtry's "Home" while other pasengers boarded.
(gtg, might be a few hours or more) -
I pulled out my laptop, and started a chat with the officers I told where I was and how I was so close to finding her, yet she seemed just out of my grasp. They asked if I wanted any help, but I denied all of their offers- this was my first case in more than two months, and this was mine.
(Okay bye) -
(i'm back)

(Hello? *knock knock* Oh, I guess you're not home. Okay, I'll come back later. *walks away from door*)
