I turned tetris on on the computer, and it turned on on three of the other screens to. Watari sighed, "Mr. L, you need to find something else to do. Something that won't brainwash your genious. Maybe you could check the news for a new case to deal with?" "No," I responded, "I already checked. They don't need me for anything." I sighed and leaned back in my chair, closing out of tetris.

I heard the warning bell ring. "Oh, crap, catch you later, Jamie!" I ran to Bio, my heart pounding. 'Please don'e be late, please don't be late.' I prayed. I made to my seat seconds before the bell rang. I sighed. I placed my homework on my desk, and grinned at Hailey, my best friend. I handed it to Mr. Carl. 'Safe for another hour and a half.' I tell myself. If only it would stop looking for me...
-
It was quiet for the next hour. I almost fell asleep on my chair, but woke up when the phone rang. I jumped up and ran to it, before Watari could get it. I was excited that I might actually have a case. But the woman on the other line didn't even mention a murder mystery. Instead, she asked if her son was here. I sighed, slightly annoyed, "No, sorry ma'am.. It seems you have the wrong number...No, it's no problem...bye." I set the phone down and shook my hair, tousling my hair even more.
-
Finally, after what seemed like forever, the bell ending Biology rang. "Lunch time!" I sang, and hip bumped Hailey, who bumped me back. "You ready for Choir this year, Liz?" "Heck yeah, I wouldn't miss it for the world!" I glanced behind me, and paniked. Why here? Why now, where anyone could see it? I tapped Hailey's shoulder. "I gotta go...um..." I point to the girl's restroom. Hailey nodded. "See in the cafeteria, then." "Uh-huh." I said. I rean into the bathroom, locked the doors, and tirned around. "What do you want from me?"

I poked the microphone headset that connected me to the police station, and wondered when I would get to use it. Wouldnit be a murder case, a missing person, a robbery? Would it be in a foreign country? I knew several languages, so even if he case brought me to Italy or Japan, I would be ready. I walked over to the curtained window, and peeled back the curtain a bit. I looked out, where he streets were bustling with people and cars. I longed to go outside, but without a purpose, what for? I sighed and sat back down on my chair.
-
I folded my arms. It just stared at me. That's all it ever did, stare. "We want you to come with us, Elizabeth Charleston." I glared. "And why should I go? I have a life here. You can't just take me away from it." "I am a she, not an it, and my name is Cen." I nodded. "Okay. Cen. Why do you want me?" Cen smiled. Or, at least, I think she did. "Because there is a boy who longs for adventure. And we need you to help us grant him that wish." I closed my eyes. "I will go." I whispered. "What must I do?"
-
I put my head on my desk and threw my hands up in diffiance. I turned on he t.v., something I never did, and sat there watching it for about two minutes I promptly fell asleep in the middle of an opera singer's act on X-Factor. Watari came over and poked my cheek, but I refused to wake up.
-
I dipped my fingers in the paint, and looked at Cen. "'Flying', right? That's what you want me to write?" Cen nodded. "Yes, it has to be that." I finished the 'g', and washed my hands. "Now what do we do?" Cen smiled. Again, I'm not quite sure it's even a smile, but that's what I'll call it from now on. "To the airport, of course." I snorted. "Please. How are we supposed to buy tickets? All I have is my usual 30 dollars a week. Also, how are you going to get through security?" Cen smiled, and her outline gowed bright red. I had to turn away it was so bright. I turned back, and there was a little kitten in Cen's place. "Okay, I have to admit, that's pretty cool." I mumble. "But again- money?" "That won't be a problem." Cen said. "Just take the pack I was carrying. It has all of the necessary items you will need. Including the money." I slung the backpack over my shoulder, and held Cen. "Let's go." I whisper.

I woke up almost an hour later, to find my phone filled with messages. It was reports of a missing student at the local highschool. I guessed that she would turn up eventually- I had plenty of reports like these all the time, and they would always find the kid ditching at a club or making out behind the cafe or something. What puzzled me was the note they said she left behind. "Flying?" I asked myself outloud, and automaticaly I said, "Airport!"
