How to write ;~;
seriously, almost all of my friends IRL are writers (I am too but I write poems, they do stories)
so...any tips for a failure of a beginner like me? I feel so out of the loop with them. ;~; -
I've read your writing in soaps and your poems on dA, and you are very good. :3 I guess what helps me write is daydream a bit and get a picture of what you see in your head. Then try to find words that seem to portray it the way you wish. I'm not great with advice. ^^' But I can help if you'd like.

But if you really want to do this..
Just, picture a beautiful place. Whatever comes t mind is fine. Imagine yourself there.. Try to grasp to every single little detail..
And write what you experience about the place. Tell how it smelled, how your body felt, how the sky was, how the plants were, anything that can be described! Describing scenery is really one of the best things you can do.
I'm sorry if this is crappy, but I was taught to do this back in my older schools.. -
start by thinking of a good story. for example, you could base something on a dream you had, then make it loooooonnngeeeerrrr. btw i'm not a great writter but i can help you a bit. i'm usually pretty good after i get started

try reading some of the multiple quiz stories. then think about what you did and didn't like about them so it can help you know how to put a story together. for example if you like the plot, atmosphere, characterization, etc

When you get an Idea for a story, don't just dive into it. Plan what's going to happen ahead of time. Get like, a basic plot and everything, and build off the vague idea. And if you get small ideas that are just kinda details, figure out how to stem them off into a.... bigger product thing, y'know.
xD Not much help, but that's just what I do. JUST DONT OVER DO IT WITH THE "AHEAD OF TIME" STUFF. xD -
Number one rule:
Don't think you're good. I'm not insulting you, I'm serious. The most horrible writers I've ever seen thought they were the equivalent of Shakespeare, James Patterson, and C.S. Lewis all in one person. Heck, don't keep beating yourself up, just don't decide that you're a good writer. If you don't do that, if you decide you're already a good writer, you won't listen to advice and you'll never be able to learn from better authors and their writing.
And whatever you do, don't think about what other people will think of your writing. Write what you want. When writers try to make their story all PC and blah, it usually turns out to be crap (people breaking this rule have caused the existance of books such as Twilight and many others). -
