Chester smiled and looked back down at his watch, fidgeting with the chain.

Jayd watched him fidget with it.

The food was brought out to them. -
(shut up)
Jayden took the food. "Thank you." -
(:()
Patton nodded and walked away. Chester set his pocket watch on the table and began to eat. -
(:P)
Jayden started eating as well because that is in fact what people do- -
‘What’s the time?’ Maeve asked quietly.
‘I don’t know. The watch is days behind.’
Maeve huffed and continued eating. ‘Why don’t you fix it, then?’
‘I don’t want to tamper with it,’ Chester muttered.
‘Dad would’ve wanted you to maintain it.’
‘Maeve.’
She rolled her eyes and disappeared. -
Jayden watched, frowning slightly. "You haven't changed the watch so it's correct?" He chuckled.

‘It’s stuck on the day my parents died,’ Chester said, opening it. The clock had the normal two hands, but with an extra third, smaller one on the number 3. The other hands read 7.56. ‘See, the third hand here points to the three. That means it was a Tuesday. I heard humans don’t have these kind of clocks. I don’t want to change it.’

"Oh, I see." Jayden murmured, feeling bad for joking about it.

Chester continued eating.

Jayd did too.

Chester finished and slipped his watch back into his pocket, feeling a little calmer. He sighed softly and snuggled close to Jayden.

Jayd let him. "Are you alright?"
