"Because I love you." Jayden murmured. "And because I'm not that sort of person."

‘Do you hate me?’

"Of course not." Jayden frowned. He felt like scum for making Chester feel like he had to ask.

Chester hugged himself, wings attempting to curl back around him. ‘I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.’

Jayden blocked his wings from that. "It's okay. I'm sorry you ever thought otherwise."

Chester shook his head, burying his face in his hands.

Jayden hesitated before wrapping him in a tight hug.

Chester tensed, before morphing into a bunny and hugging him back.

After a moment, Jayd pulled away, looking at Chester and trying to see if that made it better or worse.

Chester was still sad and his ears were drooped, but he sniffled and wiped his eyes.

Jayden gave a gentle smile to try and help him feel happier.

Chester gave a weak smile back, resting his head on Jayden’s chest.

Jayd let him, freezing up for a small moment.

Chester closed his eyes, trying to calm down. He still felt terrible.

Jayden didn't know what to do. He was so useless.
