"I should probably go tell the doctor that your awake" William sighed getting up from the wooden chair that lay beside Holli's bed.
Holli nodded twiddling her thumbs. She didn't know what to say. She knew she wouldn't be able to stop him, but last time she escaped the hospital. No, not again. It led back to the dreaded place. This time she was going to have to stay put no matter what happened to her. Like William said, it'll all work out. In the meantime, it would be nice to have a bath without being drowned. -
After a while, William returned with a nurse. The latter put the back of his hand on Holli's forehead, then took her temperature.
'She's got a fever,' he said, not particularly to anyone but himself. 'We'll run a few tests later, but for now she can rest.' -
"But Nurse, I feel fine" Holli insisted but the Nurse just tuttered and carefully pushed her head down on the pillow before turning to William. Holli grumbled but said nothing more.
"Now young sir, I'm going to have to ask you too leave"
William shook his head. "I'm staying, but I'll make sure she gets her rest ma'am don't worry"
"If you insist on staying in the building you can go to the waiting room and wait for visiting hours" she snapped. -
'Why can't I stay?' William argued.
'Only close family can stay with her,' the nurse snapped, growing more irritated by the minute. He put one of those heartbeat measure thingies on Holli's finger and turned back to William. 'Why are you still here?'
'I'm her cousin,' William lied.
The nurse huffed. 'Fine,' he mumbled. -
(Lol I put the nurse as she and you put them as he)
Finally the nurse left, and William and Holli were left to their own accord. For about an hour Holli slept, a couple of machines buzzing away. There was one controling her heartbeat and the other her oxergeon levels.
(Gotta go) -
(Haha, oops)
William just sat there, watching her slip in and out of consciousness. He held her hand tightly, like he was never going to let go of it. -
Holli woke up for a few minutes ever now and again during the hour she slept for. She looked up at William, smiled and squeezed his hand and then fell back to sleep.
-
Soon, night came and William had fallen asleep in his chair. His head leaned on the wall behind him, his hand still holding Holli's. When the nurse came in, he tutted at them and left in irritation.
-
Holli woke up quite late. She slowly sat up and looked over at William who was snoring a little. She chuckled letting go of his hand. She stared out the window, and watched the stars for a few minutes until she heard the door click, the door handle turn and the large slab of wood open.
-
Holli couldn't see who was at the door, only a silhouette of someone considerably taller than her. She lay back down, eyes on the figure as they slowly walked towards her. As they stepped into the moonlight that streamed from the window, Holli could just see his face.
Jason.
Holli choked back a gasp and stared up at him, her face a mixture of anger and fear. -
Jason looked at her, his face blank. You couldn't tell if he was going to turn nice or betray them, yet again.
"William" she stuttered. Nothing happened. Jason stepped forwards.
"William" Holli repeated slightly louder. This time he stirred.
He jumped out of his chair following Holli's gaze.
"Jason, what the hell are you doing here?" -
Jason glanced to William nervously, but returned this gaze to Holli. He took another step forward and chewed his bottom lip, either nervously or thoughtfully.
-
Jason didn't reply. William shield Holli's bed as well as he could. "Jason, what do you want?" He asked again trembling a little.
Jason had sweat trickling down his forehead. If anything he seemed scared, like he didn't want to do what he had come in for.
"Has someone threatened you?" William asked.
