Ya know, you don't HAVE to bump threads if you don't want to.

Then unstickied threads would need to be bumped more, leading to more stickies until there is an entire page of stickies making it hard to get to anything unstickied which destroys the entire purpose.

Mabye there could be links to certan threads on your page. Everything would be the same, but you would have instant access to any threads you've recently posted on.

Or you could just write down the names of the threads you want to remember and then you can use the search bar. Or you could bookmark the ones you want to remember.
