but I hate it when on other websites a post is deleted and the other person/people look like they're talking to themselves..

Maybe it should show ther ewas a comment once. Like:
"This comment was deleted" -

Adding the moderator thing to this idea-
Mods should be allowed to view deleted comments and bring them back if needed as evidence for something. -

Actually, I've been meaning to bring this up. Never actually did, so I guess my suggestion goes here.
I think the wise thing to do is to allow an editing option, but only for fifteen-thirty minutes. So after a certain amount of time, editing would be unavailable.
Deleting would just make this site more confusing. I suggest we stick to editing with a time limit. -
