yesh... i know. but also, i hear that the chocolate he eats is 100% cacao, meaning it's EXTREMELY bitter. so that might be it too.

i think the bitterness is how he keeps himself from jumping off the edge if you know what i mean. he's been through a lot. always being second to near, watching his role model die. it takes a toll on a person whose parents dropped him off in an orphanage.

poor mello. and on top of that, he's sometimes mistaken for a girl... and underestimated. it's really quite sad. he had a lot of potential. near knew he would die when he kidnapped takuda. that's why near won the race to uncover kira. he's a selfish little boy who can't do the dirty work himself.

kira is basically the name society has given to the killer of all those who do wrong, or in this case, light, who owns the death note. it gets more complicated, seeing as there are actually three kiras in thee story including misa, light, and taru mikimi. but it's light who's giving the commands
