The Tribes leader is also a healer, and interprets omens from their ancestors, the Tribe of Endless Hunting. The Healer is sometimes called Teller of the Pointed Stones, but is normally known as Stoneteller. A cat is named after the first thing their mother sees, and forsakes their original name if they become Stoneteller.

ThunderClan was founded by Thunderstar, originally known as Thunder. His first deputy was Lightning Tail, or Lightningtail, who was killed by a pack of dogs. His second deputy was Owl Eyes, or Owleyes, who became known when he became Owlstar for following an owl when it came out to hunt. The current leader of ThunderClan is Bramblestar, though may soon be Squirrelflight, who will be Squirrelstar, and the deputy is Squirrelflight. Their medicine cats are Jayfeather and Alderheart.
