Nope, you got it a little mixed up there, but I'll help you figure it out.
Caitlyn Jenner is a transgender woman, which means that she once was known as Bruce but has made a transition into becoming a woman. Same person, no passing down of genetics. Because of this transition, this means that we refer to her with the proper pronouns of she/her. You wouldn't want someone to misgender you, now would you? If your a girl and someone constantly calls you a boy and use those pronouns, you'd be frustrated. It's the same for Caitlyn.
Being a transgender is not a mental illness. Yes it is what's going on in your mentality, it's not a disease like depression or ADHD. Being transgender means you identify with another gender that isn't the one given to you at birth. Transgender is a wide umbrella that encompasses other gender identities, but that's a whole other discussion. Caitlyn went through the physical changes to match her inner self. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. This is a very loose interpretation, but it's like why people dress the way they do, to reflect what they think of themselves into a physical concept.
I appreciate that you have a somewhat open mind about this, but I just want to ask you why you think she's an idiot and what exact chance you're giving her. She is doing this to make herself happy and comfortable in her own skin. What's so wrong about that? If you don't like something about yourself, you change it. For her, it was her gender. Her (so to say) insides didn't match her outside, she was uncomfortable with that, so she took the extra step that science and surgery offers, to make it match. -

bunnie: No probs, I've learned a lot at how to explain this by trying to educate my mother who is very set in her ways.
Anime: Thank you, I just hope that you take something from this, there's a lot of people in the LGTBQ+ community who are very misunderstood and get defensive when people don't know and I'd rather not have people blow up when talking to someone who generally doesn't know about it. -
personally, i'd love to be a transgender. but due to my current age and lack of money, i wouldnt be able to afford the surgery and theres no way my parents would approve.

Your parents sound like judgmental jerks. Which, don't worry, a lot of people are. Just remember for yourself that it's best to respect people's choices and wishes, even if you don't agree with them.
Try not to follow in your parents' footsteps, calling people names and degrading them just because they are following what they feel is right. Respect others, knowing we are all the same: human beings. -
