Lavender buried her head in her hands to hide it. "No..."

Maeve giggled. ‘It’s okay. Are you sunburnt~?’

Lavender shook her head, embarrassed.

Maeve stroked her hair. ‘You okay?

"Yeah, I-I just..." Lavender didn't finish her sentence.

Maeve waited for her to finish.

Lavender tried to think of a way to end it that wasn't I just wanted to kiss you only to come up short. She buried her head in her hands again.

Maeve pulled her closer, scared that she’d done something wrong.

Lavender leaned into her touch. She looked up, noticed Maeve's worried expression, and hesitated before wrapping her in a hug.

Maeve gave a small smile, hugging her back.

"Are you okay?" Lavender asked eventually.

‘Yep. All good here.’

Lavender smiled, pulling away eventually. "Alright."

Maeve grinned.
