Lavender looked back at her. "Do you want to go higher up?" She asked quietly, wanting to do anything if it meant they could both forget what happened before.

'I-I don't want you to be scared.'

Lavender was about to make some lie about how she wouldn't be before deciding against it. "Okay." She mumbled, looking down. She felt bad for making it awkward.

Maeve fidgeted with her hands.

Lavender looked down at Maeve's hand, and slowly moved her own so their pinkie fingers brushed against each other lightly. She looked up at Maeve's face, both wanting to see her reaction and silently asking if it was okay.

Maeve blushed lightly, keeping her eyes on both their hands. She linked pinky fingers with her.

Lavender tried not to get too hopeful. "Are-is this alright?" She mumbled. She liked Maeve too much to mess it all up.

'Y-Yeah. Why would it not be?'

"I-I don't know. I just don't want to make you upset, I suppose." Lavender looked down at their hands. This is as far as you will ever get with her.

'I wouldn't be upset at holding pinkies,' Maeve said with a small chuckle, looking at her.

Lavender beamed. "Some people just get weirded out by it." She shrugged with a chuckle.

Maeve smiled. 'Then they're stupid,' she said, chuckling.

"No, they're just not you." Lavender said happily.

'Pfft, even stupider,' Maeve laughed.

"No!" Lavender laughed, rolling her eyes. Her smile faltered slightly as she wondered what Maeve would be upset with. She wondered if Maeve would ever tell her, or if she'd just find out the hard way, by going to far. If she did the latter one day, would Maeve stop talking to her? Would she come back to visit? How far even was too far? Was it one of those situations where you'll know it when you see it, but once you've seen it, it's too late? What if she-
Lavender looked out at the sky again. She held Maeve's pinkie tighter.
