Lavender wanted to pull Maeve closer. She almost did, pulling her just a tiny bit closer before panicking and letting go.

Lavender noticed. She almost wished she didn't, because it made her get hopeful, then nervous, then feel like an idiot for being getting her hopes up over what was certainly nothing.

Maeve rested her head on her shoulder, looking up at the sky. ‘That cloud looks like a dog.’ -
Lavender looked up. "It does." She chuckled. She pointed to another one. "That one looks like a tree."
