Maeve didn’t know what to say. ‘Are you sure? You can tell me anything, y’know, not that I’m trying to pressure you into telling me stuff or anything-‘

Lavender looked up at her eyes. "I love you too."

Maeve blushed lightly. She hugged her close, playing with her hair. ‘Are you upset?’ she asked quietly.

Lavender shook her head. "Not at all." She sunk into her arms, hugging her tightly.

Maeve exhaled softly, playing with her hair. She didn’t want to annoy her by prying, so she didn’t.

Lavender looked up at her. "Are you okay? Do you want to talk about anything?"

‘No, it’s okay. I’m fine,’ Maeve said.

Lavender tilted her head to the side slightly. "You sure? You can talk to me about anything, too."

‘Yeah, I know. I’m okay,’ Maeve said, forcing a smile and nodding.

Lavender could tell her smile was fake. She frowned. "How can I help?"

‘I’m fine, don’t even worry about it,’ Maeve said with a half hearted chuckle, snuggling close.

"You helped me, let me help you." Lavender held her close, playing with her hair.

Maeve leaned into her touch. ‘I’m fine,’ she said, trying to sound like she was fine, but it came across as snappy.

Lavender flinched, not expecting that from her. "Okay."

Maeve noticed her flinching and buried her face in her shoulder. ‘Sorry,’ she mumbled.
