‘Yeah,’ James said with a weak smile.
-
"I mean, I've seen plenty of other horrible things in my life, but I can imagine how that could take a toll on someone," Ed spoke softly, watching James.
-
James didn't respond, picking at the skin on his finger. 'Um, let's go back to your house?'
-
"Sure, yes," Ed replied with a nod, turning. "It's this way, correct? I know I should know since I've quite literally lived here for ages, but the streets look so different and have different names now, so-"
-
James chuckled weakly. 'Yep, this way,' he said, beginning to walk back.
-
"You okay?" Ed asked quietly, moving to James' side.
-
James nodded, forcing a smile. 'Yep.'
-
Ed opened his mouth, wanting to ask more, but didn't want to push. He nodded, following beside James.
-
James stuck his hands in his pockets.
-
Ed hummed softly, following James as he admired the scenery.
-
The two got back to the house. James held the door open for Ed.
-
"Why thank you~" Ed said with a chuckle, walking inside.
-
James chuckled, walking in after him. 'You're welcome~'
-
Ed hummed softly, going back into the kitchen. "Well, I suppose I should go shopping now-" He said, looking around.
-
‘Probably. You’ll probably need me to come with you, right?’
