Richard went dead silent. "That's not... Not like that..."

Caleb stood up and sat back at his desk. ‘Sure.’

Richard buried his face in his hands. "That's not what I meant." He said quietly.

‘Mhm,’ Caleb muttered, grabbing his pen and looking down at his work. ‘Then what exactly did you mean?’

"I don't know." Richard admit. "It was an impulse thought, I swear."

‘That it’s somehow different?’

"It's not." Richard said quietly. Though they both thought it wasn't different for very, very different reasons.

Caleb sighed. ‘I-I’m sorry for getting mad.’

"It's not your fault."

‘It is. I shouldn’t be so sensitive.’

"I'm not blaming you. I shouldn't be such an a--hole."

‘You’re not an a--hole.’

Richard gave him a lOOk. "Don't lie to me."

‘I’m not lying,’ Caleb mumbled. He looked at Richard. ‘You’re not an a--hole.’

Richard looked down. "Thanks." He mumbled.
