Caleb chuckled, grinning dorkily.

Richard laughed, eating more of his food.

Caleb continued to eat, still grinning.

Richard smiled back. He picked at his food for a bit, eating a couple bites before deciding he was done.

Richard watched him. His father ate quickly.

Caleb glanced at Richard’s father, wanting to make conversation.

After a minute or two, Victor stood up. He walked to Richard, patting him on the shoulder. "We need to talk outside." He said before walking out. Richard stood up.
"I'll be back soon." He promised his boyfriend before following. -
Caleb glanced at him worriedly, forced a smile and nodded. ‘Alright.’

Richard smiled back before walking out.
"I don't like how much time you're spending with the king." Victor said the second the door was shut.
"What?" Richard's smile completely disappeared. -
Caleb continued eating in silence.

"You're not here to make friends. You're here to learn."
Richard frowned. "Who's to say I can't do both?"
