Clay lifted his head, tears beginning to roll down his face. “I-I’m sorry-“

“Don’t be sorry, hun, there’s nothing for you to be sorry about-“ George whispered, placing his hands on Clay’s cheek and whipping his tears away. “Take a deep breath for me, okay?” He inhaled dramatically, waiting for Clay to follow.

Clay nodded and took deep breaths with George, closing his eyes again. He grabbed onto the collar of his shirt, inhaling and exhaling shakily as he tried to calm down.

“There you go- you’re gonna be okay, hun, I promise,” George said softly, rubbing Clay’s back.

Clay exhaled shakily and nodded, letting go of his shirt. He hugged onto George, burying his face in the crook of his neck.

George hugged Clay close, sitting down next to him on the couch so it was more comfortable for his boyfriend. “Do you wanna talk about it?”

“I- I think I n-need a minute,” Clay murmured after a few moments of silence, exhaling shakily as he curled closer to George.

“Okay, yeah, all good,” George said softly, nodding. He rubbed Clay’s back, holding him close.

Clay exhaled shakily, curling closer to George and leaning into his touch.

“It’s gonna be okay, you’re gonna be okay,” George whispered, holding Clay close.

Cay nodded and curled closer to George, exhaling softly as he took a few more deep breaths to calm himself down more.

George rubbed Clay’s back, moving a hand to stroke through his hair.

Clay lifted his head after a short moment, exhaling softly. “I- I think I’m okay, now,” he spoke softly, rubbing the side of his face with his hand.

“Yeah, you sure?” George said softly, continuing to gently rub Clay’s back.

“Yeah, I’m alright,” Clay spoke softly, nodding as he leaned into George’s touch.
