“Thank you,” Georgie murmured with a smile, looking down at the floor bashfully as her face turned red. “I- I worked a lot, making sure everything looked good and-“ He paused, yawning tiredly, “and didn’t clash or anything.”
-
Casimir smiled, rubbing their back. 'I can tell. Do you want to go get some sleep? I can take care of this.'
-
"No, no, I'll be okay~" Georgie replied with a tired smile, nodding as she ran a hand through her hand. "There's still a lot to do, so I- I can't sleep now," they muttered, glancing around for a moment. "Okay-" He clasped his hands together, looking down at the table. "What do you think of this set up? I kind of like it, but I dunno-"
-
Casimir watched them worriedly, but didn’t press. ‘I like it. Do you have a favourite?’
-
“I like the one over here, with the roses,” Georgie spoke with a small smile, walking over to another table. “It’s pretty, don’tcha think?”
-
‘It’s very pretty,’ Casimir said with a small smile, looking at the table. ‘Let’s go with this one, then? And match the rest of the theme with it?’
-
“Do you like it? I-I wanna make sure it’s something we both like-“ Georgie said, yawning softly as he moved to another table.
-
‘Of course, I love it,’ Casimir said, grabbing their hand. ‘Love, I think you need some sleep.’
-
“No, I’m okay, I’ll sleep later-“ Georgie murmured as they rubbed their eyes, moving forward. “So, now, we- we have to decide on the- the cake flavors-“ She spoke, yawning about three times during that sentence.
-
‘Yeah, darling, go get some sleep,’ Casimir chuckled, kissing the back of their head. ‘I’ll take it from here. Just tell me your favourite cake flavour and your favourite flower before you go.’
-
“I said I’m fine, I’ll sleep later,” Georgie snapped unintentionally, moving away from Casimir. “I’m fine, let’s just- get this over with,” she murmured tiredly, taking a step forward.
-
Casimir frowned. ‘Georgie,’ he said firmly. ‘You’re tired. You’ve done so much work already. Let me take over from here, otherwise you’re probably gonna pass out from exhaustion.’
-
“No, I’m-“ Georgie paused in their steps, fighting off a wave of dizziness. “I’m alright, I have to- I need to finish this,” he murmured, walking forward again. They didn’t get very far as their legs buckled, giving out underneath them. She dropped to the ground onto her knees, fighting to stay awake. Her vision began darkening, blacking out as she passed out onto the floor.
-
Casimir quickly caught them, exhaling quietly. He rubbed their side and picked them up, kissing their forehead.
‘Get them a glass of water and some breakfast,’ he told a servant, then carried his fiancé to their room and left them a note for when they woke up. He tucked Georgie in. The servant came in with one of those cover things on top of a plate and set it on the bedside table with a glass of water. -
Georgie woke up a while later, groaning softly as they rubbed their face with their hand. Where am I- He thought, sitting up a little. He looked over, seeing a drink, a small platter with food and a note on the bedside table. She picked up the note and the glass of water, taking a sip as she read it.
