Mason sat down at the counter, resting his head on his hands.
-
“What do you want in your coffee?” Chris asked softly, looking over at Mason.
-
‘Just milk, please,’ Mason said, rubbing his eyes with his hands.
-
Chris nodded, watching Mason for a moment. “You okay, baby?” ahe asked softly, going back to making the coffee.
-
‘Yeah,’ Mason said, fiddling with his hands. ‘Just, y’know, worried. About your dad, obviously, and what my parents will say when they find out we’re together.’
-
“I mean- you don’t have to tell them,” Chris spoke softly, watching Mason for a moment. “I mean- I’m not telling my parents about us yet-“
-
‘I guess. But what if they look through my phone or something?’
-
Chris exhaled softly, thinking. “We could just call rather than text or something-“
-
‘They’ll hear me!’
-
“f---, right-“ Chris exhaled softly, leaning against the counter. “I guess you may have to tell them?”
-
Mason rubbed his face with his hands, shaking his head. ‘I can’t. They refuse to accept I’m trans, if I tell them you’re my boyfriend, they’ll refuse to let me see you.’
-
Chris groaned softly, covering his face with his hands. “What do we do then?” He murmured, taking the cup of coffee out of the machine. He grabbed some milk from the fridge, pouring it into the coffee.
-
‘I don’t know,’ Mason mumbled, looking down. ‘I-I’m sorry..’
-
“Baby, it’s not your fault, I promise-“ Chris said, shaking his head as he stirred the coffee a little and brought it to Mason. He wrapped his arm around his waist as he set the cup down, kissing his cheek. “We’ll figure something out, okay, hun?”
-
Mason gave a weak smile and nodded, taking the coffee. He leaned against Chris and took a small sip.
