Chris smirked, chuckling. “Mm, I may need a quick one before p- Y’know, for motivation~” He teased, jokingly making a kissy face at Mason.

Mason laughed. ‘No, you get one after,’ he said, patting Chris’s head.

“Fiiine,” Chris said with a chuckle, standing and stretching.

Mason grinned and stood up, ruffling his hair.

Chris hummed and gently took Mason’s head, heading out of his room and downstairs.

Mason followed, intertwining their fingers. He gazed at Chris. He’d been waiting for so long, and now he was finally his boyfriend.

Chris walked downstairs, seeing his brother and sister watching TV in the living room. “Hey, uhm- I’ve got something to tell you guys,” he spoke nervously, watching his siblings. “What, that you’re dating your best friend? Because we kinda already know~” Tristan teased, giggling softly.

Mason chuckled, rubbing the back of Chris’s hand.

“No, not that-“ “It’s about Dad, right?” Justin said, a blank expression on his face. “How- How did you know?” Chris asked, furrowing his brows a little. “Mom told us this morning before she went to work,” the younger boy spoke softly, crossing his arms over his chest.

Mason looked down, running his thumb along Chris’s knuckles.

“Is he okay?” Tristan asked, a worried look on her face. “Yeah. Dad’s okay,” Chris replied with a small nod, gently squeezing Mason’s hand. “He should be home soon, so don’t worry-“ “Why didn’t you tell us?” Justin asked, glaring at Chris. “I- I didn’t want you guys to worry about him-“

Mason looked at Chris. He gently held his hand with both his own.

Justin glared him before looking away, keeping his gaze back on the TV. Tristan gave an apologetic look at Chris, leaning closer and whispering something to her brother. Chris exhaled softly, looking over at Mason.

Mason kissed the back of his hand, unsure what to say. ‘They’ll be okay.’

Chris exhaled, nodding. He led Mason into the kitchen, going to make him and his boyfriend some coffee.
