Chris chuckled softly, smiling a little. He let go of his legs and hugged onto Mason, holding him close. "I love you so much," he whispered softly, exhaling quietly.

'Love you too,' Mason mumbled, letting him.

Chris froze and flushed bright red, smiling happily. He hugged Mason close, humming softly with content as he rubbed his side with his thumb. "You really don't have to let me stay here, at least not now- I still have my place, at least temporarily."

Mason rested his head on his chest, nestled into him with a small smile. ‘Till when do you have it?’

"The end of the month, if I can't make up the rent money," Chris replied, sighing a little. "I need to get another job, though, if I wanna make any money-"

'Well, you've got a couple of weeks to find one...'

"Yeah," Chris mumbled, exhaling softly. He ran a hand through Mason's hair, kissing the top of his head. "Do you think you could uh, help me look for a new job?"

‘Yeah, sure,’ Mason said softly, leaning into his touch.

"Oh, thank God-" Chris said, chuckling softly. He kissed Mason's head again, holding him close. "I hate searching for jobs, it's so draining-

Mason chuckled, leaning into his touch. 'Fair enough.'

"It was such a pain to get my last one, too- all the interviews," Chris muttered, sighing softly. "I still can't believe I was fired..." He mumbled, exhaling shakily.

Mason hugged him close, not sure what to say. 'You didn't deserve it,' he said quietly.

"I probably did, honestly," Chris muttered, glaring at his hands. "It's karma or somethin'..."

'Karma? For what?'

"I dunno, for being a s---ty friend? For- for not standing up for you back in high school??" Chris mumbled, bringing a hand up and rubbing his face.
