“You’re in college, right?” Chris asked, looking up at Mason.

'Yep,' Mason said.

“What’re you majoring in?” Chris asked, picking up his sweet tea and taking a sip.

'Art history,' Mason said, running a hand through his hair. 'I was gonna do music but I'm crap at theory.'

Chris chuckled softly, nodding. “That sounds fun,” he said with a small smile, eating another nugget.

Mason nodded with a small smile. 'It is,' he said. He looked down at his phone, checking the time. He didn't want to keep his boyfriend waiting, but he didn't want to leave Chris rudely.

“I kinda wanted to go to college, but it’s expensive as s---, dude-“ Chris said, chuckling softly.

'It is,' Mason chuckled. 'Working at museums pay pretty well, though. If I manage to be the curator's apprentice I can pay it off pretty quickly.'

“Ooh, get it,” Chris sad with a chuckle, running a hand through his hair.

Mason chuckled. 'Yep.' He checked his phone again. 'Hey, I'd hate to leave so abruptly, but I should probably go. My boyfriend needs me for something.'

“Oh- Yeah, no, you’re good,” Chris said with a small smile, nodding as he watched Mason stand.

Mason stood up and slipped his phone into his pocket. 'Text me later, okay?' he said with a small smile.

“Definitely,” Chris said with a smile, nodding and waving at Mason.

Mason waved back and walked out of the restaurant. He walked back to his apartment and opened the door.
