Briar watched him for a moment, frowning a little. “You sure you’re okay?”

Lawrence glanced at him and nodded. ‘Of course. Just a little tired.’

“Mm, I feel that- Even though I took a nap, already~” Briar said, giggling softly.

Lawrence chuckled. ‘That’s fair,’ he said, pulling him closer. He stared into the distance blankly as they walked.

Briar watched Lawrence for another moment, sighing softly. They soon finished up their shopping and made it back to the cabin, Briar putting things up.

Lawrence did the same, unpacking the groceries. He had no idea where to put them, so he just handed them to Briar.

Briar started grabbing the groceries, putting them away in the kitchen. He hummed with content as he finished, washing off his hands. “Perfect~” He said with a smile, looking over at Lawrence. “Cake time~?”

‘Of course,’ Lawrence said with a smile.

Briar smiled and moved to grab some glasses and silverware, pouring two glasses of wine and portioning out two slices of chocolate cake for him and Lawrence.

Lawrence sat down on the stool, leaning his elbows on the counter.

Briar slid a plate and fork over to Lawrence, setting down a glass beside him before moving to sit next to him with his food. He hummed as he took a bite into his cake, sighing with content. “Mm, so good~” He said with a smile, leaning against his boyfriend’s side.

Lawrence smiled and bit into the cake as well. ‘It is,’ he said, kissing the top of Briar’s head. He took a swig of the wine to help himself wake up a little.

Briar smiled and took another bite of his cake, picking up his wine glass and taking a sip. “Mm, I’m so glad I’m not back at the castle,” he said quietly, resting his head on Lawrence’s shoulder.

'Because I'm so much better than luxury and crowns?' Lawrence asked in a teasing voice, wrapping an arm around him.

“Oh, one hundred percent~” Briar said, giggling softly. He leaned closer into Lawrence’s side, eating another bite of his cake.
