‘Fern would be a good name for a fox. Also maybe a bird. We should get a bird,’ Lawrence mumbled, holding him close.

“Ooh, that’d be nice~” Briar said with a smile, continuing to run his hand through Lawrence’s hair. “What would we name the bird? And the cat, for that matter?”

‘I vote Bob for the bird,’ Lawrence said with a grin, leaning into his touch.

“Oh my God- Fine, the bird’s name can be Bob~” Briar teased, giggling softly as he kissed the side of Lawrence’s head.

Lawrence grinned. ‘Yay!’ he said triumphantly, leaning into his touch.

Briar laughed softly, kissing the side of Lawrence’s head again. “I want to name the cat Penelope, then~“

‘Penelope? That sounds like the name for a 16th century housewife, but okay,’ Lawrence mumbled.

“f--- you! Fine, I’ll name the cat something else then,” Briar jokingly pouted, giggling softly.

Lawrence laughed. ‘Okay, jeez~’

“Hm, if not Penelope, then what?” Briar asked, leaning into Lawrence’s touch.

‘I don’t know… Maybe a decent name like Mary,’ Lawrence said, shrugging. He’d had a very old-fashioned upbringing.

“Mary? Seriously??” Briar teased, giggling. “That’s such a basic name, oh my God-“ He laughed softly, leaning back against his boyfriend.

Lawrence flushed, lulling his head on his shoulder. ‘Right, um… Ethel? You pick the names.’

Briar giggled, gently patting the side of Lawrence’s head. “We’ve got plenty of time to figure that out- God, we have all the time in the world for, well- Anything, really~”

Lawrence smiled, holding him close. ‘Yeah, we do,’ he said, looking up at their new house.
