Clay exhaled shakily, nodding slowly. “Fine, yeah, I’ll- I’ll tell them, eventually,” he muttered, rubbing his teary eyes.

“Hey, that’s a big thing, to tell, y’know?” George said softly, looking over to Clay. “That’s super brave of you.”

“I just feel so gross,” Clay muttered, exhaling softly as he leaned back against the hammock. “I can still feel them, still hear them- And it doesn’t help that I see them at school and they act like nothing happened!”

“Yeah, and they basically act like you don’t exist anymore,” George commented. “Do you think they’ve done it to other people, too?”

“Wouldn’t be surprised, honestly,” Clay muttered, running a hand through his hair. “I’m just glad it didn’t happen to you. I- I don’t think I could live with myself if I let it happen to you-“

“It might’ve happened to me before,” George said with a shrug. “I don’t remember, though. They used super strong s--- last time.”

“And- and you’re just okay with it??” Clay asked, a bewildered look on his face. “Literally how?!”

“Uh, I don’t know,” George said with a shrug, covering his eyes again. “I just- I dunno. I don’t wanna be upset about something I’m not even sure it happened. I also like- okay nevermind.”

“I- I guess that makes sense,” Clay spoke, exhaling softly.

“Yeah,” George said quietly, grabbing another piece of bread and taking a bite.

Clay glanced over at George, chuckling. “How are you just eating straight bread?” He asked, chuckling.

“Hell yeah,” George said with a quiet chuckle , taking another bite. “I need to get some carbs somehow.” -
“Fair enough,” Clay said with a chuckle, watching him with a small smile.

“You gotta try it after drinking, it’s so helpful for hangovers,” George said softly.

“Gimme a piece then,” Clay said with a soft laugh, rolling onto his side and holding out a hand.
