“Huh, interesting,” Nick nodded. “Are they like- weird? Not to be like- well, you’re not weird, obviously- okay, well, okay, ignore me.”

“Wooow, shame on you, Nick~” Karl teased, giggling. “I mean, to some extent, one hundred percent- But honestly, they’re all pretty chill.”

Nick giggled quietly, nodding. “That’s fair. Do you work with any of them?”

“At the restaurant? Yeah, I do,” Karl said with a smile, nodding. “Me and my best friend Alex are both waiters~”

“That’s cool,” Nick said with a soft smile. “I seriously need to get a job before the end of junior year.”

“I mean, the place I’m at is always hiring,” Karl said, a small smile on his face. “Or you could always go to Chick-Fil-A- You look like a guy who’d work at Chick-Fil-A, honestly~” He teased, giggling softly.

“Damn, okay, shots fired,” Nick said with a chuckle. “But I’ve heard awful s--- about working at Chick-Fil-A, so I think I’ll check out your restaurant.”

“Oh God, literally- So many of the kids in the co-ops say it’s awful, working at Chick-Fil-A,” Karl said, chuckling softly.

“That’s what I’m sayin’-“ Nick said with a chuckle. “Does your job pay well?”

“Pretty well, yeah,” Karl replied with a nod, running a hand through his hair.

“Mm, nice, I’ll check it out, then,” Nick said with a small smile, nodding.

Karl smiled, crossing his legs in the chair. He sat there awkwardly for a moment, desperately trying to think of something to say.

“So, uh, do you do anything for fun?” Nick asked, rubbing an eye.

“Uhm, I like to draw,” Karl replied, humming softly. “That and just, play video games-“

“What kind of games?” Nick asked, rubbing a hand through his hair.
