“Why not just, keep talking with this guy? See where it goes, get a feel of the situation,” Clay suggested, shrugging. “And if you do realize he likes you and that you don’t like him that way, just tell him?”

“But I don’t wanna lead him on,” Nick said softly, wringing his hands together. “And I- God, I think I do like him- but my dad would kill me if I was gay.”

Clay’s expression softened and he exhaled softly, nodding. “Just because you’re gay doesn’t mean it’s like, mandatory to come out to everyone you know,” he spoke, resting a hand on Nick’s knee. “And if you’re still figuring it out, that’s fine as well~”

“I know I don’t have to come out to everybody, but then I’d have to hide with him and I don’t really wanna do that,” Nick said quietly, wringing his hands together.

“Well, you can always talk to him about it- I’m sure he’d be fine with it, whether it be for a while or only for a little bit,” Clay said, smiling a little at Nick.

“Talk with who, Karl?” Nick asked, frowning a little.

“Yeah, if he’s the guy you think you like and who you think likes you-“ Clay said, chuckling softly. “I’m also not saying like, right away- But if your feelings change and you do decide you like him, you should talk about it with this Karl~“

Nick paused, nodding slowly. “Yeah, you’re right- ugh, this is so weird-“

Clay chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, those first few stages of acceptance are definitely weird- I was in denial of liking dudes for ages, honestly-“ He added, chuckling softly.

“I wasn’t,” George said with a chuckle, glancing over. “I’m not surprised-“ Nick said with a chuckle, flicking the side of George’s head. “Hey, what the f----“

Clay chuckled, bringing a hand up to rub the side of George’s head. “Okay, let’s be nice, you two-“

“Wha- he literally started it-“ George said, slightly upset. “Because you were being a dork-“ Nick said, sticking his tongue out at George.

“Nick, stop,” Clay said, chuckling softly as he held George close.

“Ugh, fine, mom,” Nick groaned, sitting up.
