“You wanna talk about it?” Clay asked, resting a hand on Nick’s back.

“Uh, not really,” Nick said, rubbing his eyes. “Just- don’t let me miss out on this waffle.”

Clay nodded, a small smile on his face. “Make your waffle already,” he said with a chuckle, nudging Nick’s side with his elbow.

“Okay, okay “ Nick said with a chuckle, taking some batter and pouring it into the iron before closing it.

Clay hummed softly, turning around and leaning back against the counter. He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his socials. He froze, staring at a post on his feed. “That b-----“

“What?” Nick asked, glancing over to Clay.

“Nothing- It’s nothing, don’t worry about it-“ Clay spoke, stuffing his phone in his pocket. “Just uhm, don’t go on Twitter for a while-“

Nick furrowed his brows, glancing at the waffle maker again. “What- the f--- is going on?”

Clay sighed, rubbing his temples. “Just Lucy and other people trying to spread bulls--- about you- it looks like not many people believe it, but still-“

Nick froze, whining quietly. “What are they saying?” He asked, reaching for Clay’s phone.

“No, stop- Trust me, it’s just gonna make you feel worse,” Clay spoke, gently grabbing Nick’s hand and pushing it away. “Just- Let’s forget it, okay? Worry about the waffles.”

Nick thought about fighting, but decided against it, silently opening the waffle iron and taking the waffle out.

Clay watched Nick for a moment before holding out the plate with the first waffle on it, letting him put the waffle on it. “Hm, I might see if George wants me to save him some waffles,” he spoke, glancing upstairs for a moment.

“Go for it,” Nick said quietly, staring at the waffle iron. “Do you want me to make a third one, then?”

“Yeah, you can probably make a few more- There’s a good bit of batter,” Clay said, nodding as he turned. He headed upstairs and opened his bedroom door, seeing George laying in bed. “Georgie, you want some waffles~?”
