“Sorry,” Clay mumbled, wringing his hands together. “I- I’m sorry-“ He tried to say anything more, but it was all he could come up with. f---, I’m doing it again…

“We can go home if you want,” George said softly. “But just- please don’t be so embarrassed dude, you’re okay-“

“I really didn’t mean to make things awkward,” Clay whispered softly, his voice shaking. “Please don’t hate me-“

George frowned deeply, wrapping his arms around Clay. “I don’t hate you. I get it-“

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Clay repeated, his voice shaking. He clung to George, burying his face in his shoulder. “I’m so sorry…” -
“Hey, hey, hey, breathe,” George said softly, rubbing Clays back. “Don’t be sorry- it’s seriously okay-“

“I keep- I keep saying the w-wrong thing, though…” Clay exhaled shakily, pressing his body against George’s. “I- I really do love you, and I- I keep f---ing things up, I- I’m so s-sorry…”

“Yeah, hey, shh, shh,” George said softly, swaying a little. “It’s fine, it’s fine.”

Clay exhaled shakily, hugging George close. “I’m s-so sorry…” He murmured, sniffling softly.

“It’s okay, I understand,” George said softly. “You still wanna head home?”

“K-Kind of, yeah,” Clay murmured, exhaling softly. “Sorry, I- I really didn’t mean to ruin the- the date…”

“I mean, I’m here for you, so I don’t really care,” George said softly, shrugging. “Let’s start packing up, c’mon.”

Clay nodded, exhaling shakily. “I- I really am sorry,” he murmured, letting go of his boyfriend.
